Terry Binns' first involvement with aesthetics was through makeup. During college, Terry served as a stand-in and background character in a film being made near his school. At that time, his primary course of study was speech and theater. He enjoyed observing and later learning first hand about makeup techniques for film. His first job in our field was, consequently, working for the company hired by that film's producers.
Today, Terry continues to enjoy makeup applications and occasional special effects challenges, a slash, cut, or abrasion or two. He amazes staff and clients with simple effects which make a profound difference in appearance. Terry uses and recommends a variety of products for facial procedures, trialing and choosing from several different product lines. The products sold in the spa represent many years of testing products for effectiveness as well as for appeal in scent, texture, and weight. Currently, Terry recommends skincare from Dr. Belter, Skin Medica, Dr. Babor, and Cell-Renew. He recommends layering product and follow-through with a home-care program for maximum results. He would be the first to say: "........don't ask your doctor what's wrong, get a prescription, then do nothing about it!"
In addition to his aesthetics practice limited to long-term clients, Terry works with new aestheticians as they join our staff. He also volunteers time to local schools and does on-site demonstrations for our distribution center clients. |

This is Blanca Stonebridge's fouth year at Terry Binns Spa, just a sliver of time in her cosmetology career of more than twenty five years. Doug and Terry were introduced to Blanca during a time that she still returned to New York several times monthly to serve color clients. They feel great privilege to have her concentrate her career here in Kansas City on the Plaza.
Blanca entered the cosmetology field first as a nail technician, later achieving a full cosmetology license and performing a great deal of waxing in addition to hair care. Her special interest is in hair color. Her instinct for color choice and color correction is exceptional, with outstanding skill in highlights and lowlights.
Blanca especially enjoys giving the Lazartigue Hair Treatment for Dry Hair (120.00), and remarks about the texture change in client's hair and the endurance of the treatment. She is loving the new Dr. Babor products from their cosmeceutical line of skin care. Her favorite treatment is receiving a facial and trading that service out with keeping Terry's curly hair looking great! This used to be a secret....so shush!

Toni Baker is our newest addition to the aesthetics staff at the spa. Toni's aesthetics education was obtained at Paris II cosmetology school in Kansas City. Her previous work experience in aesthetics was a term in a medical spa environment, however her love of doing facials, waxing, and special interest in make up and eyelashes brought her to our spa.
Toni's background has included both active duty and the reserves in the United States Air Force. Much of Toni's active duty was spent in Japan, giving her a diverse world view and experiences. She has also worked as an assistant manager in a bath and body personal care product store. At home in Kansas City now, Toni enjoys instruction in ceramics at a local community center.
In describing her draw to aesthetics, Toni states that she enjoys 'empowering women and making them feel confident.' |

Lynn Didlo joined Terry Binns Spa in 1998 and specialized in natural nail manicures and pedicures. With more than twelve years experience in nail care, Lynn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her trade.
Lynn and her daughter appreciate the availability of the Teen Facial with each of the staff estheticians, keeping her teen's skin in beautiful condition. They have also enjoyed the specialized services the staff offers to teens for events such as Homecoming and Prom.
Favorite nail products include Lecithin Nail Oil (13.95), a Dr. Eckstein product which is a "fantastic" nail and cuticle conditioning oil. Other picks by Lynn include the Cuccio Butter Stick for cuticles (8.00), avaible in 'Milk & Honey' or 'Pomegranate & Fig,' as well as the new Gerlan Hand Cream (19.95) from Germany. Gerlan Hand Cream contains a special combination of ingredients including jojoba oil, tapioca starch, bisabolol, and panthenol creating a great daily-care product.
Lynn especially enjoys the Herbal Bliss Pedicure, which treats the client to a special protocol of premium Foot Care Products and a heated towel wrap. Lynn's work days include Tuesday thru Saturday.

Say hello to Alicia! Alicia has been with Terry Binns Spa since August 2002. Alicia serves as salon service coordinator Tuesday thru Saturday. She brings a calmness to our front desk as well as the entire Spa. Her sense of style is apparent in her handling of product displays as Alicia has a flair for design. Spa clients consistently compliment us on having Alicia as a pivotal associate.
Alicia's favorite spa service to receive is one of the many aromatic and rejuvenating facials offered at Terry Binns. "They are very relaxing and home products prolong the benefits." Alicia is a true believer in the benefits of a home skin care program and it shows!

*Champagne Ampoules (36.00 for ten) - for moisturizing as well as firming "great with layering products" Alicia enjoys sampling the variety of ampoules (skin care concentrates) but has a particular fondness for this Dr. Belter line addition.
*Jane Iredale Lip Gloss (19.00) - "long lasting and good colors" Lip gloss is a current and popular choice for ladies of all ages. Jane Iredale doesn't formulate with FD&C dyes, chemical preservatives or synthetic fragrance. There are no fillers such as talc in Iredale mineral makeup.

Brenda joined the Terry Binns Spa staff in February of 2008 with twenty four years of experience. Her range of cosmetology experience has included salon owner, associate and instructor in a cosmetology school for six years.
Brenda's favorite spa service to receive is the one hour full body massage from either Kimberly or Cristina. She says both operators are 'fabulous!'
Brenda enjoys such a range of hair care services that it's hard for her to choose a favorite. She puts men's cut and color at the top of the list, reporting that the satisfaction and morale boost men get from great hair services is rewarding. Brenda's favorite hair care product is J.F. Lazartigue's Solaire Sun Mask. She says this product is outstanding for nourishment and moisture leaving truly remarkable results!
Adding that the dry inside air this winter is causing dehydration of hands and feet, Brenda recommends the Cuccio Naturale Hydrating Treatment and hands and feet. The Cuccio hands and feet treatment was a popular choice for holiday purchases at the Spa.
Brenda works a full-time schedule at Terry Binns Spa. Her regular work days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and alternate Saturdays and Sundays. Spa clients with especially demanding work schedules are finding Sundays from 12:00 to 5:30 with Brenda a great value. Brenda's typical men's cut costs 35.00, her women's cut is 55.00, and single color process begins at 75.00. She has a great eye for color and skilled understanding of highlights and lowlights.

Cristina has 5 years experience as a massage therapist and joined the Terry Binns Spa staff in March of 2007. She is a full time staff member and is available for appointments Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Cristina's favorite massage services is The Ninety Minute Massage. "In The Ninety Minute Massage, there is plenty of time to concentrate on an area of concern and still allow adaquate time to spend on other areas of the body as well."
Cristina's favorite services to receive at the spa are manicures: "I love the feeling I have when my fingernails are trimmed and polished." Her other favorite is hair color: "I always feel like a new person after I get my hair done. The color touch up brightens up my face and the trim makes my hair soft and healthy."

*Solerra Tanning (Bronzing) Mitt (6.00) - The self tanning mitt is wonder for a last minute glow. It goes on smooth and does not rub off on your clothes so you can use it right before you go out. Smells good!

Lyndsey joined the staff of Terry Binns in March of 2007 and now has ten years overall experience as a nail tech. Lyndsey was voted by KC Magazines as 'Best Manicurist,' in 2006.
Lyndsey's favorite service to perform at our spa is the Herbal Bliss Pedicure (85.00). This fifty minute pedicure incorporates the German foot-care line of Gehwol and a warm foot wrap. Gehwol (meaning walk-well), is a medical grade foot care product line with amazing results. Gehwol products do a superior job of cuticle and skin softening. The Herbal Bliss Pedicure is truly a pampering treatment!
The Dr. Belter Sea Salt and Sugar Scrub is Lyndsey's product choice for pre-moisturizing. She says there is no reason to moisturize dead skin scale, which should first be removed. Lyndsey loves the OPI color range!
Facials are Lyndsey's favorite service to receive in the salon. For ultimate unwinding and a great cleansing, Lyndsey likes to have a European Facial (75.00). She advises us to listen to the esthetician's recommendations for a perfect home-care program. Following up at home with the correct products stretches out the great results!

Amy joined the Terry Binns Spa staff in January of 2007, and we are thrilled with her tremendous contributions. In addition to her time spent at the spa on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays, Amy is an educator for spa professionals with our depilatory wax products. Amy enjoys waxing and maintains a large clientele on virtually any day she chooses to work.
Amy's experience of more than seven years includes a wide variety of specialty facials as well as professional training with the Jane Iredale Makeup, Dr. Belter, Dr. Babor, and Skin Medica product lines. Her understanding of product ranges assists her with finding the correct skin care program for home care. Amy is a believer in follow-through with a good home care program to maximize results.
A couple of words of caution for booking with Amy are: "Plan Ahead." Expect a wait and plan for most services a minimum of two weeks out for appointment openings. If you have a narrow range of times that work for you, plan at least one month ahead for a better selection of appointment times and dates.
